Scattered
Huddled in a white room
at the top of the stairs
round a corner
in HCA
room 102
Soaking up the sunshine
through the window panes
all warm, familiar
they stand
and wait
Regimented lines, all with
straight edges end to end
they never move
their legs
are stiff
The whole year long the signs
have read please leave the tables
as you found them
much
obliged
But after almost thirty weeks
of minor alteration and
occasional abuse
the tables
turn
Two a-piece, eleven strong (less one)
divided up across the floor
in HCA, room 102
they've all
been scattered
End
Scattered
